ATHE launches Level 7 in Computing Technologies with specialist pathways – promotional discount available - 30/09/2021

Launch Offer – to celebrate the launch of this new qualification ATHE is offering its recognised centres a 20% discount off standard registration fees for learner registrations on this qualification received up to the 30th September 2021*.

The ATHE Level 7 Extended Diploma in Computing Technologies is a 120-credit Ofqual regulated qualification. It provides the core knowledge, understanding and skills to support learners planning to further their studies and careers in the field of computing technologies.

The qualification has been developed in collaboration with subject experts, colleges, higher education institutions and businesses to ensure the qualification meets their needs.

The different pathways allow learners to study a more general (non-specified) programme or specialise in particular fields of study as listed below. All pathways are 120 credits and comprise five mandatory units and two pathway units. 

  • ATHE Level 7 Extended Diploma in Computing Technologies (Software Engineering) 
  • ATHE Level 7 Extended Diploma in Computing Technologies (Application Development) 
  • ATHE Level 7 Extended Diploma in Computing Technologies (Data Analytics)
  • ATHE Level 7 Extended Diploma in Computing Technologies (Networking) 
  • ATHE Level 7 Extended Diploma in Computing Technologies (Artificial Intelligence)

The following key points refer:

  • Delivered through classroom, blended or distance learning, these qualifications are designed for learners who are typically aged 21 and above and have already graduated in a computing and/or information technology qualification at Level 6.
  • Alternatively, learners may be working in the field of computing technologies, have participated in training and are experienced practitioners.
  • The general programme offers flexibility for learners to choose optional units that suit particular interests and business needs, while the five pathways reflect recognised key disciplines in computing technologies.
  • The qualification specification provides centres with detailed guidance on indicative content, and each unit is accompanied by assignments which assure alignment with learning outcomes and assessment criteria.   

On successful completion of the qualification, learners may progress to further higher studies, MSc top up in Computing or a related subject, or an MBA top up, gain membership of a relevant professional body, and enhance employment opportunities and career progression.
