LCCM are the UK's only specialist independent higher education college for creative people offering industry-led degrees in music and creative entrepreneurship, founded by professional musicians in 2003, LCCM has attracted students from across the world, helping them to prepare for a life in music – as artists, managers, musicians, songwriters and musical directors.
LCCM has a reputation for nurturing creative talent; they have successfully bridged the gap between traditional universities, conservatoires and rock and pop schools, by combining the best elements of all three into a modern centre for artistic, creative and academic excellence.
Now LCCM offer the same personalised and collaborative learning environment to aspiring music executives, and creative entrepreneurs based in the Music Box, their purpose-built creative campus in the heart of London, SE1.
Designed for people who are serious about developing a career in music, LCCM is a place where talent, imagination and creativity flourish.
As a college with a small student population, LCCM take pride in getting to know every individual. You will find the expert staff encouraging and approachable and the students friendly and supportive.
LCCM’s industry roots and relationships provide access to a network of professionals to help underpin your creative career for years to come.
LCCM aim to help you realise your potential and career ambitions, preparing you for a long and rewarding professional life in the creative industries or beyond.
Graduate opportunities and the skills demanded by employers today are radically different than in the past. LCCM’s unique approach recognises this, giving you a practical education that not only helps you master your chosen subject or instrument, but actively encourages collaboration, communication, initiative and hard work.
With this in mind, LCCM’s new degrees, such as BMus Commercial Music Technology and MSc Entertainment Science have been designed to work in close conjunction with their already well-established music programme. This means all of their students benefit from an education in tune with the needs of the UK’s creative industries, where music and original ideas are more valued than ever before.
LCCM hold a variety of events and masterclasses throughout the year at their purpose-built venue the Music Box. Since opening in December 2018, this brand-new facility has hosted student performances, masterclasses and student-led events.
In 2019, we started Box Talks, a new monthly talk series at the Music box, encompassing the brightest minds and talents in the UK music industry. Box Talk guests included platinum-selling producers, One Bit; manager of The Prodigy, Nick Halkes and iconic lawyer and author, Ann Harrison.
LCCM graduates work across the music industry as award-winning recording artists and songwriters, film, game and TV composers as well as music business professionals. Many have also achieved success in business, technology and the media. Notable alumni include Tom Walker, Marie Dahlstrom, Ernesto Marichales and Camilo Menjura.
